Our Lord Jesus, said to Simon Peter in the Garden of Gethsemane, “Are you asleep? Could you not keep watch for one hour?” (Mark 14:37)
“The sleep is not mere fatigue experienced by Peter. This brand of “sleep” is deadly. It is the spiritual stupor of those who do not recognize the moment of God’s call. The “sleep” of someone who does not prepare to face what looms ahead.
Please spend a moment or two before reading the rest of this correspondence discerning whether or not you are in the same “sleep” as Simon Peter. Do you feel spiritually dull?
This Lent enliven your soul! Awaken it from spiritual dullness! “Sleep” no more! Participate in one or more of our parish’s Lenten programs!
Certainly, your participation in our Lenten programs will help you as well as assist our parish to become better and stronger in our community! Together, let us revive a world becoming more and more lethargic in their adherence to teachings of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Join us so your Lenten journey may be blessed, and your Holy Week abundantly graced!
