For the 4th year, the Catholic Charities Family will be hosting our Outdoor Memorial Mass at the Department for Persons with Disabilities' Wiegand Farm in Oak Ridge.
We will be livestreaming this mass and will not be hosting an in-person event. This year will be especially poignant as we will be remembering several of our Catholic Charities family members who have passed away from COVID-19.
To see a list of who we will be remembering please visit www.ccpaterson.org/mass. If you have a loved one who has recently passed that you would like us to remember in a special way at this mass, please email [email protected].

Providing Help For those who are Food Insecure
October 8, 2020
Dear Friends of Catholic Charities,
Each day Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson helps thousands of individuals in need. We are unique in that we do incredibly diverse work; helping those in recovery, Veterans, adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities, children of all ages, families in crisis, immigrants, young mothers, and so many more. We are truly blessed to do what we do and have persevered on through COVID-19.
While our staff have been on the front lines during this pandemic, we have also expanded our services to help more people than ever before. In the last 6 months, we have given out over 1 million pounds of food and over $2 million in emergency funds to those most in need.
We continue to combat food insecurity in our local communities. 14% of New Jersey residents are food insecure and many of them are children. 37% of residents in Paterson are food insecure; here we operate our Fr. English Food Pantry, which is one of the largest pantries in New Jersey. Fr. English along with Hope House (Dover) and Partnership for Social Services (Franklin) help battle hunger each day.
We are grateful to our donors and community partners who support Catholic Charities' Food Pantries and all of our programs. We would not be able to provide help and create hope without you!
If you or a loved one are in need of assistance please email us at [email protected]. We will do all we can to help you!
With the help of the Health Coalition of Passaic County (HCPC) St. Joseph’s health proudly donated 100,000 nutritious meals in an effort to reduce food insecurity within the community last week. The meals were distributed to 9 local organizations that provide social services to individuals and families in need, including Catholic Charities. To learn more about this endeavor visit www.ccpaterson.org/news/sustain.
Thank you to Greg Birrer and the Knights of Columbus Council 6320 from Succasunna, for their ongoing support. With the help of the Paterson Federation Knights, they have donated 3,000 pounds of food over the last several months to our pantries. We picked up another donation over the weekend. Simply amazing!
We are blessed to assist those in need and wouldn't be able to do it without your support of our ministry.
Thank you for all you do!
Sincerely, Scott Milliken Chief Executive Officer Catholic Charities, Diocese of Paterson [email protected]
