It is a great honor and privilege to serve at the Altar of our Lord and therefore your participation as an Altar Server is special. When you serve the priests, you serve the people of God, and above all, you serve Christ. As an Altar Server, you are involved in the holiest and most sacred event in our tradition of Catholic worship.

The role of the Altar Server is to assist the Priest in the celebration of the liturgy during Mass.  Some of the Altar Server responsibilities include:

• Caring for the altar candles
• Bearing the cross and candles in the entrance procession
• Assist the priest celebrant and deacon as necessary.
• Assisting with holy water, water, wine and offertory gifts at Mass

Training will be scheduled for all new altar servers. Once servers have completed the initial training, they will be able to begin serving during Mass. After a server has qualified to serve, they will be added to the regular altar server schedule.
